Cant wait for the first person to complain about the price of a room in the hotel on a CL matchday.
They could hand them out for free with the 3 match package and carrots would moan about the price of the mini bar in the room.

Would be brilliant, if the club thought in locations for the local community in the development of the area - indoor swimming pools, community center, kindergartens etc to get the hole area integrated instead of only being Celtic

Must be some size of hole to get all those things into it.

Better make sure we don't lose another fenian horse down it either

£18m is a small outlay for the money this will make the club in the long term, and as others have posted, we won't be paying for this by ourselves.
Exactly - like everything else Glasgow City Council will be footing the bill.

I like to think Pedro ending the meeting with GCC something like

"So not only will you grant me planning permission, you will also build it and pay for it out of your own pocket"

Contract up for renewal, now on a diet and trying harder.

If we are paying for this ourselves ( we won't ) it will only because there is an annual return that justifies it.

If we invested £18m with a 20% annual return that profit of £3.6m is then channeled into the football infrastructure.

Over 20 years we will be able to invest £72m into youth development etc rather than just the original £18m. We would also still have the Asset we could sell or continue to gain profit beyond.

Edit: Remember also this is outline planning permission not detailed planning permission which is why the club are correctly non commitsl.

Henrik Larsson Honeymoon Suite.
Always scoring going on in there. ;)

Look forward to getting the chance to price this.
Although depending on who wins the tender and is building it, it may be VE'd to death.

In line with some of the chat above about An Gorte Mor..

http://www.celticfc.net/news/13300

TO once again recognise the tragedy of The Great Hunger, Celtic will be wearing the National Famine Memorial Day logo on the Hoops when they take to the field this Saturday for our match against Hibernian at Celtic Park.
Unquestionably, the Great Hunger was a transforming event in Ireland, which changed the demographic and cultural landscape forever. Indeed, there is nothing else in the history of the Irish people that can be likened to the Great Hunger, either for its immediate impact, or its legacy of emigration, cultural loss and decline of the Irish language.
Heather Humphreys TD, Minister for Arts, Heritage, Regional Rural and Gaeltacht Affairs and Chair of the National Famine Commemoration Committee, announced that this year’s National Famine Commemoration will take place on Saturday, September 30, 2017 in Ballingarry, County Tipperary.
Speaking at the Launch in April 2017, Minister Humphreys said: “This is the first time the National Famine Commemoration will be hosted in Co Tipperary. Each year the commemoration represents an opportunity for the modern generation to remember the devastating impact which the Great Famine had on this country.
“Sadly, the plight of hunger still stalks the world today. Our commemoration of the sufferings of our own past can only strengthen and increase our sense of empathy and understand with those societies afflicted by this scourge in our own era.”
Celtic Chief Executive Peter Lawwell said: “The origins of Celtic Football Club will forever be connected to the Great Famine and it is hugely important that we once again mark this annual memorial”.
“Celtic was established as a force for good, a vehicle to support people in real need, people whose families had previously escaped the devastation of the Great Famine.
“The club’s ethos and traditions are borne from these events and these values of charity and community will never change.
“It is important that we always remember the devastating and lasting affect which the Famine had on the lives of so many millions of people and we are pleased again to play our part in this year’s commemoration."
Surely given Hibs origins , they should be wearing these on their strips as well??
Same thought crossed my mind when reading this.

Doesn't The Emirates Arena offer very similar things to what you're suggesting? It doesn't have swimming pools but it does offer sports and leisure facilities that the local community can use. Tollcross is also reasonably close

Celtic aren't actually going to be taking £18m out of the bank to pay for this.
No need . A third of the fee we get for dembele will cover it 👍

Excited about the proposed museum. Badly needed and a team with 130 years of history has a lot of stories to tell. Also think of the amount of interesting/historical stuff that cannot currently be displayed on the stadium tour that players, supporters etc have that is probably sitting in storage.

When the museum opens, Willie Haughey will free up about ten rooms in his house.
