I' m sure he mentioned it in his interview a few months back
I might be wrong but I think the offer involved building them a plant nearby but they were not interested

They could start by telling whoever is digging that effing hole that's had London Rd closed for about 10 years now to get the finger out, WTF is even going on there? i pass it at least twice a week and see no work happening !
The State Aid has dried up. Have to wait for Glasgow Catholic Council to authorise further payment to us in the next financial year, (It's a secret).
Apparently the firm in charge of the hole are looking into it

If I was running a successful business I wouldn't be in any hurry to move anywhere either, it would have to be a spectacular offer to make me disrupt my business and move elsewhere,
Eg did the offer include buying every single piece of required equipment brand new, setting it up and testing it so that not one single day of production is lost?

A quick look at their website it looks like they're employing people in the area, Id imagine if they're bought out that production could move anywhere, including overseas.

I know the huns were mocked for their recent attempt at a fanzone (and rightly so, it was like the fair on craggy island without the charm), if it was done properly there is the room and demand for a permanent fixture outside the ground. Lots of beer and other interactive stuff for children.

Last night at the Etihad was very impressive. Walls and fences surround the whole complex which they call The Campus.

The Bobby Sands

Walked up the Celtic way at the Barcelona game and it really is worth it in the dark, lights are beautiful.

I have heard that Lawell and Desmond were very impressed with the Murrayfield set up in the sense they wont an exterior fence that you pass through turnstiles to enter into a stadium area. The plan then is to have food and beverages available for fans much like they do at murrayfield, that is controlled and policed by celtic. pop up Hospitality tents and the likes...
They do that in american stadiums, have the entrance to the stadium outside rather than turnstiles.

Its not gonna happen but i wish they would replace that horrible 80's brick facade at the entrance. Either expose the original facade or have it as glass. The current facade with the advertising on each side kind of looks tacky and cheap.
I'm sure I remember something like that at a Euro away game back in the MON days, might even have been Seville :ponder: Not a fan zone as such, but definitely some sort of fence around the stadium where tickets were checked before you got to the actual building.

One obvious thing which differentiates us from the American football games is that we'd need to have some sort of segregation, but if that can be managed well enough then I don't see why not. Would need to have a lot of covered and heated areas for it to be a goer though, not many people will want to be standing around outside on a damp afternoon in February just for some (inevitably overpriced and poor quality) beer and a plc-approved musical act.

Anyway, I'm all for the hotel (Wilfrid's suggestion of locating it in the city centre is a very decent idea I think) and a museum shouldn't be too much to ask.
 Could've been Stuttgart?
Loads of wee bars and eateries all around the stadium perimeter.
Great atmos :)

A museum could be a great source of income. Barcelona get about 1.5million visitors to their museum each year at about €23 a go. Most of them will spend a load of cash in the club shop and on food/drink so they're probably making at least €35million per annum from this particular source.

I realise Glasgow doesn't get as many tourists as Barcelona but even if we could attract a fraction of what Barca get to the Nou Camp it would see a marked increase in revenue.

I don't think there will be anything majorly new any time soon. As I understand, there are a lot of scheduled maintenance and repair works due on cladding and roof paneling.

Also at the AGM they said they were going to tender on an upgrade to the PA system.

So with that, I reckon there won't be much done in terms of the approaches for 2 to 3 years.
The PA system needs replacing.
100% agere with this.

The system must be the original from the 90's because systems have come on quite some distance since then.

I remember being at the Amsterdam arena and their system was immense.

Plus, I work for Bose- I can get you them a good deal. ;)
Pffffffffttttt... B&O surely! ;)

Think he was kidding on about Rod... I hope.

I had my first season book then (Hampden season)...Cher look alike at halftime. AWFUL.

Pretty sure they rolled out wee Jimmy as well alongside her at one game. Its a wonder wee JJ did not grab the mike from her & start his own tunes knowing he liked a chant.
