where the brave volunteers once held up a flare ( beneath a fire resistant plastic sheet! Btw)
funny you didnt seem to have an issue with the flares on the day of the game

Spoiler: click to toggle
Take time to read I said BEFORE the game and during the season.
perfectly capable of reading and viewing the little chucking smiley with regards to the flare display. certainly doesnt show the disdain for the display and lack of adherence to health and display that you have been posting about in recent days.

When the Desso pitch is down will it make it more likely that Celtic Park can host major concerts? I'd imagine most promoters would prefer to use Celtic Park over Hampden due to capacity, transport links and the general layout of the stadium probably being better acoustically.

That was before it became clear that this is an issue that is going to get the club in to bother.
Do you accept that continued use of flares is going to result in the club potentially losing the standing section?
Do you accept that continued use of the lateral movement, that the standing section is not built for, is going to result in the club losing the standing section?
We might have enjoyed something at the time but now we have been told that that something will hurt the club if it continues.
Do you want to continue or do you want to change and adapt?
The GB have shown plenty to imagination and wit in the past to suggest that they are easily capable of finding other ways to generate atmosphere without resorting to pyro or lateral movement.
It's their call, those things have to go or they have to go!

there has been no continued use of flares. theyve only been used by celtic fans once at cp as a one off

the lateral movement is one of the main reasons the standing section was built for. one of the main pushes for it came when celtic said the council were cracking down on them standing and moving in a seated area :ffs: the issue with lateral movement the other night is because the police were blocking the stairways

Laugh as much as you like, but the standing section is not designed to accommodate lateral movement. Do you accept that?
If it's not built for it then it shouldn't be happening or the section will eventually be closed. These things are quite simple.
As I said before the GB are taking liberties with their section. At some high profile games they have far more bodies in there than at run of the mill league/cup games. From my seat it's pretty clear when that happens. These are all things that will come back on them eventually.

Please point out where it says that the standing section is built to accommodate lateral moment of the type the GB initiated on Wednesday night?
I have mentioned before, German fans stand practically still when swaying from side to side. No one moves out of their designated spot. On Wednesday people were moving well outside their spots and some were coming on to the passageways which are a different design from the terracing. This means it's possible for people to lose their footing. That is a serious safety issue.
It struck me at the time that it was aimed more at the police and stewards rather than having a good time!

I'm laughing alright.

Do you think that the Green Brigade purposefully overcrowd the standing section?

Its actually more the opposite. The rest of the standing section are responsible for the overcrowding.

If you want to continue this - let's move it to the thread on the GB as suggested by those wanting to keep this for stadium improvements Ok? I'll respond on there

Magic, hopefully it holds up well throughout the winter.
I was told we're putting a replacement surface down during the winter shut down, before the Desso surface gets installed next summer.
Why haven't you mentioned this before?
Thought this was common knowledge?
