Surely it would be possible to have a band playing in the centre circle before kick off USA style and a bit of fireworks.

Also gotta say BMG stadium looked amazing with green lights under roof all around. That would be the biz.

Like to see major improvement on the catering before anything. Card payment option, more staff to serve with bigger choice and better quality.

I think this takes priority over everything. Not THAT difficult to sort.
Hector will be watching then :ph43r:

Green lights looked very cool, I would also like a high powered light that shines the Celtic badge into the sky at night like the bat sign.

I have heard that Lawell and Desmond were very impressed with the Murrayfield set up in the sense they wont an exterior fence that you pass through turnstiles to enter into a stadium area. The plan then is to have food and beverages available for fans much like they do at murrayfield, that is controlled and policed by celtic. pop up Hospitality tents and the likes...
They do that in american stadiums, have the entrance to the stadium outside rather than turnstiles.

Its not gonna happen but i wish they would replace that horrible 80's brick facade at the entrance. Either expose the original facade or have it as glass. The current facade with the advertising on each side kind of looks tacky and cheap.
I like it. Its got a bit of character.

Sorry if I'm missing something, but can't really see the point in a hotel - the stadium is close enough to the City Centre and there are plenty of existing hotels. It's not as if there's a massive amount of stuff around Parkhead itself...?
Actually as a regular visitor to Glasgow's hotels when I am up to see friends (and don't wish to stay with my psychotic family) I can say that the city has a real shortfall of 4 star hotels - decent enough to be luxurious, but not so expensive as to be cost prohibitive.

But what I'd do is this...

Rather than having it out by the stadium, I'd have it in the city centre and run mini buses to the ground for the game, thus being able to charge ticket and transfer packages to any European visiting fans and sell them into the whole tour and match day experience.

Also would be able to book it out for general customer and not just for football related days, because otherwise the occupancy rates would be too low to make it a viable concern.

Apart from one or two five star hotels (One Devonshire and another which I forget) a couple of four stars (Malmaison) and a long tail of budget places, Glasgow is poor by comparison to other cities of similar size for hotels.

The club could clean up in all manner of ways if they built and situated one in the city centre.

If the Park Hotel at Rugby Park can be a money maker a hotel at Celtic Park in Glasgow would rake it in.

I'm sure I remember something like that at a Euro away game back in the MON days, might even have been Seville :ponder: Not a fan zone as such, but definitely some sort of fence around the stadium where tickets were checked before you got to the actual building.

One obvious thing which differentiates us from the American football games is that we'd need to have some sort of segregation, but if that can be managed well enough then I don't see why not. Would need to have a lot of covered and heated areas for it to be a goer though, not many people will want to be standing around outside on a damp afternoon in February just for some (inevitably overpriced and poor quality) beer and a plc-approved musical act.

Anyway, I'm all for the hotel (Wilfrid's suggestion of locating it in the city centre is a very decent idea I think) and a museum shouldn't be too much to ask.

I don't think there will be anything majorly new any time soon. As I understand, there are a lot of scheduled maintenance and repair works due on cladding and roof paneling.

Also at the AGM they said they were going to tender on an upgrade to the PA system.

So with that, I reckon there won't be much done in terms of the approaches for 2 to 3 years.
The PA system needs replacing.
100% agere with this.

The system must be the original from the 90's because systems have come on quite some distance since then.

I remember being at the Amsterdam arena and their system was immense.

Plus, I work for Bose- I can get you them a good deal. ;)

I wish that Cardowan Creameries place behind the stadium at the Gallowgate would GTF, surely we can give them a wee sweetener to shift after another couple of years in the CL.

The whole approach around that area is a bit of a tip to be honest.

Are you saying they would not sell to us because we are Celtic/Catholic club? Genuinely interested? never heard of this before

Could be that or could just be holding us hostage due to proximity to ground.
