Paging Fatboab...
Paging Fatboab...
Paging Fatboab...
It's all being done this summer. Part of the terms and conditions for us to retain our listed building status for the Rangers End.
With the final tier on the main stand being added next summer This is a myth as the weight would compromise the Vatican tunnel below.

Quoting limited to 3 levels deep

This is a myth as the weight would compromise the Vatican tunnel below. The Vatican are paying for that. The Pope got the bill about 20 mins before he met Trump, that's why he was so glum.

Saw a picture of the turf completely ripped out with excavators and huge mounds of soil.
Seems like the club arent messing about.
Given the excavators, is the undersoil heating/drainage also being replaced?
Are they able to do the full synthetic turf this year given everything has been ripped out or will it be synthetic on half the field and normal turf on the other?
Supposedly there isn't enough time to lay the hybrid Desso pitch but they are taking the opportunity to install the drainage and under soil elements and then will lay a conventional surface on top which will then be replaced and the Desso pitch completed next summer. I think. They said in the Sun the other day that the pitch will not be ready until next summer.
TURF LIFE Celtic tear up Parkhead pitch as work begins on new £2million state-of-the-art Desso surface – but it won’t be ready until NEXT summer Treble-winning boss Brendan Rodgers had demanded a new multi-million pound Desso surface to be laid
Spoiler: click to toggle By Ryan McDonald CELTIC have started digging up their Parkhead pitch as the club plan to lay a new £2million state-of-the-art surface – but it won’t be ready until next year. Treble-winning boss Brendan Rodgers had demanded a new multi-million pound Desso surface to be laid after blasting the state of the battered turf earlier this season. And the Northern Irishman has been granted his wish with work beginning less than 48 hours after the end of a record-breaking campaign. Keep up to date with ALL the latest news, transfers and goals from Scottish football plus fixtures, results and live match commentary However SunSport Online understands the full pitch won’t be installed until NEXT summer. With Champions League qualifiers kicking off in July, the Hoops have decided to put in the foundations for the hybrid surface. But the early season start means ground staff will be forced to place a grass turf on top of the footing to allow the pitch to bed in. It will then be lifted after the final game of next season, with the hybrid laid on the foundations and allowed to settle in for the start of the 2018/19 campaign. Stadium manager Robin Buchanan posted a snap of diggers tearing up the pitch on social media this morning. He wrote: “Work starts on the new pitch at Celtic Park #invincibles.” Used by the likes of Arsenal and Chelsea down south, the hybrid mixture of natural grass infused with artificial fibres prevents a pitch turning sticky and bobbly. The pitch was also installed at BT Murayfield in 2014. Speaking in February after the 2-0 win over Motherwell, Rodgers said: “I thought the players did remarkably well, considering the level of the pitch is poor. “Some of our football was very good on what – although it might not look it – is a very, very difficult surface. “When we’re trying to entertain supporters and play a level of game, the pitch is vital. “We actually go away to some grounds and play better because the pitch is better. This here slows us down. “It’s an old pitch and we need to modernise it. “I’ve asked for a Desso and I’m sure we’ll get it sorted.” https://www.thescottishsun.co.uk/sport/football/1073472/celtic-tear-up-parkhead-pitch-2million-desso-surface/

Paging Fatboab...
Paging Fatboab...
Paging Fatboab... Due to the vast increase in turnover in the last year, the Desso will now float 20cm above the main drainage channels, allowing air to circulate at all times, and drainage to be total. The hover pitch is achieved by air jets being forced through specially laid piping, which is what is happening now. The whole job will be finished next summer, and the roof of the South stand will be replaced with UV glass, allowing the floating surface to flourish all year round. This is all because of Brendan.

Seen on twitter that it's going to the contractor as part of the deal and I'm sure its WH Malcolm WH Malcolm built Lennoxtown, but are a shower of hun bastards. "Good enough for them" was a quote from one of the Malcolm family when asked about the new training ground, and anyone on Linkedin can find the " Business Bears" group set up by another family member, set up to trade with like minded hun bastards.
I wish we would give our substantial funds to a firm who didn't dislike us quite as much.

Serious question
A Desso pitch has synthetic fibres around which real grass grows. Do you need a Desso friendly mower which cuts above the length of the synthetics?
