I'm guessing Lawell is talking about the stuff that's outside of Celtics remit in that article. Things like public transport links require improvement and Celtic don't have much say in those sort of things. What's the point in building World class non match day facilities if the place is a pain in the arse for tourists to get to?
I'm all for putting pressure on the council, but Celtic Park is hardly difficult to get to.

It's a 15 minute bus journey from the city centre with buses every 5 minutes. Or it's 10/15 minutes away from at least 2 rail stations. Or you can walk to it from the city center in under half an hour.

It's better placed than many football grounds in that respect.

In comparison to football stadiums a 15 minute walk from the nearest train station isn't bad. In terms of other hotels or entertainment venues it's really poor.

Sorry to introduce a very mundane issue but last Wednesday I arrived to find my seat and many in the vicinity covered in bird shampoo. The "cleaning crew" were summoned and armed with a very small damp sponge they attempted to get rid. I've seen this a few times before affecting seats in the south stand.

Appreciate this may be a difficult matter to deal with but if it's a persistent issue, surely it's not too much to ask to have a bucket of hot soapy water on standby.

Whatever happens, be it a hotel, a museum, a second tier or whatever, it's just fantastic to see us leading from the front.

It feels like we are taking care of business off the field as well as on it. Looking after the club for future supporters and having a vision for them is very positive indeed. Whether it all comes to fruition is another thing altogether but to be exploring the possibilities generates a real feel-good factor with the club and all of the supporters.

I'd just love to see Parkhead and the surrounding area become a destination in itself and not just solely about the match. A real matchday experience with a museum, a fan zone and a hotel would be just amazing. Wonder if they'd consider an oyster bar? :i_say:

Make it happen Pete. Or else. :arrr:

A blue one, perhaps? :ph43r: :naught:

The PA system has had some work done on it over the last few weeks. I know one of the boys who was working on it and he claims to have been shown some drawings for another tier on the main stand.

Realistically that would only ever happen if we gain access to another league, or are contesting champions league quarter finals on a regular basis, which may drive general demand to get to games over the 60,000 mark.

Otherwise it is just a vanity project and look at the huns to see what vanity does to a club long term...
Extra seats for all those sevconian grandchildren?

I would argue that the buses are a joke. You'd be quicker walking to the city centre rather than waiting to be able to get on one after a match. Secondly not everyone gets to Celtic Park via the City Centre or live near the Argyll line to get the train.

Isn't the point about hotel guests getting into town on non-match days? Theyre most likely to ve heading into the city centre.
