Why increase the capacity when we will only fill it for Champions League? Much wiser to spend it on training and youth stuff.
A modest increase in capacity, coupled with a large increase in facilities. Better hospitality, better press facilities, cafe, shop, improved player facilities..... A few years in the CL and we'll pay for ot out of petty cash.

We can make the stadium a destination, maybe not at Barca levels but every little helps. Barca aren't spending £260 million to get an extra 5,000 bums on seats but as phase one of Campus Barca which is costing nearly £600 million over 5 years. There's no way they're spending that amount if they're not going to make it back and more... We can spend less but improving the stadium facilities will always pay off. And if we do a good job, we will get a UEFA final..... That UEFA final was ours as a reward for the Fair play awards but the bitter blazers in Mount Florida blocked it and it ends up at Hampdump again. When else has the same stadium hosted anotger final so soon? :nono:
Barcelona don't rely upon ticket sales as much as we do though. Our business model requires our demand for seats to be equal to, if not greater than, the actual seats available. If we have 75k seats then there's less of a need to buy a season ticket. Which is a huge problem for us, much more so than for Barcelona and any other club in the top leagues.

There's no way we're expanding the stadium now. We've had 6 months of great attendances, buy I'm not aware of a ST waiting list though, so who's going to fill these new seats? We'll need 5+ years of sellouts, a waiting list, and a belief that this isn't just a short-term jump based solely upon the BR effect.
Massive chunk of Barca's stadium development/increase being paid by Nike & Middle East sponsors...

They don't miss a trick. Stadium tour ends in a 3 storey Nike shop!

Not shy the auld catalans! ;)

Cars must be registered to the address to receive parking permits
what about visitors or are they not allowed on match days?
I don't think they've even considered it. I park in the estate across from London Rd Police station as my mates mum lives there and so far they have no idea what's going on with this

If it was going to cost the same amount (or not that much more) to renovate the main stand and increase capacity as it was to build a hotel, café, museum etc when you could house all that within the renovated/expanded stand.
Then yes, that would indeed make more sense.

Upgrade to the same status as Hampden, and seek to host Uefa finals and European Championship matches?
All UEFA finals etc are allocated to a member association who then select which stadium will get the game. The SFA will always pick Hampden, even though it is profoundly gash. On the funny side remember we had Gerry McNee telling us, on every show for about 15 years, on Scotsport Extra Time that Ibrox was due to get a European final?
The Huns rabbit on about "5star" stadiums , but that criteria doesn't exist anymore . It's Elite stadiums and in order to host a European Final amongst the things required if underground access to the Stadium/Changing Rooms for the team buses. And clearly Ipox doesn't have that .

Be more interested in an underground that got fans to the ground rather than the teams, but thats another convo all together.

It doesn't have to exaxtly be underground. Old Trafford and the new main stand at anfield feature an area at the side of the stand that allows busses to drive in and drop players off inside to give them access to the changing rooms.

On the subject of main stand renovation I do agree that it would be a great idea moving forward. It doesn't mean in increase in seats but better facilities inside and we could see Celtic park being an elite stadium.

I'm still hoping this doesn't happen, but if it does, Visitors passes are allowd at one per address for a £10 annual fee. The car itself is not registered at all. IE anyone could use.

If I lived there I would buy and rent out for £5 a game.
A fiver a fortnight, just think what you could buy with that

There isn't a requirement to have underground access, and as far as I've read both Hampden and Ibrox are Elite :ponder:

I reckon this is what we should be looking at doing. There is little point increasing capacity in the near to medium future (if ever), but renovating the main stand, upgrading facilities and adding attractions such as a museum should be under consideration imo.

Do opposition teams get piped to the front door there, naw! Celtic Park is the elite of the elite when it comes to welcoming opposition teams, especially Barca.

One of the original problems I remember when I did a tour way back when was that the dressing rooms were too small for UEFA's requirements to be considered 5 star, so like any other problem, it seems like the kind of thing that would be awkward but could be remedied in a reasonable amount of time.

I done the Hampden tour in April last year . The tour guide told us Hampden was the only Elite football stadium in Scotland and about the " underground" drop off for the coaches.
