the coldest i've ever been at a football match was when i was working in working in madrid one january about 10 years ago. one of my colleagues took me to a Getafe game and to say i was unprepared for the weather is an understatement. absolutely brass monkeys.*

the next week i got taken to the Bernabeu and i was wrapped up like Ranulph Fiennes in a blizzard. only to find the flash bastards there have gas ambirad heaters on the underside of the roof all round the stadium. after about 10 mins i was melting hot, vest and long johns et al.

* i also managed to get sunstroke playing 11's the next morning. long story
Teplice.

That is all.

Is there not a cafe in the Emirates across the road?
If there is, I doubt the club makes any money from it ;)
I doubt they would make much money from one if they built it. On match days most people would go to the Kerrydale and if what I've heard is true the new lounge in the Lisbon Lion stand from next season

Did the tour a couple of weeks ago. It's screaming out for some sort of cafe.
Prior to the Celtic Way being built, there was supposed to be a two story building built to the right (where Billy stands) to house a cafe, ticket offices and a wee Celtic museum.....plans were lodged with the Council. Word I'd heard is that things have moved on dramatically.....we were thinking too small and we may end up with a new South Stand if things pan out with Brendan........
Tour guide at the Jim Craig event on Friday said that Lawell had told him last summer that if we got to the Group stages of UCL this season the museum would be built.

I actually heard this as well.

There is talks about the south stand getting improved/bigger. Don't quite know what happened to the plans for the museum/cafe etc as club have been pretty silent on it. :ponder:
Is it really necessary to expand the South Stand? Can't see it happening anyway.
Ive sat there for the last two seasons i dont want it made any bigger there is no point but its very dated inside. If the nephew wants a pie 10 mins into the game i wont see any of the first half. They did have a pie guy for a while which worked well dunno why they stopped that,

Why increase the capacity when we will only fill it for Champions League? Much wiser to spend it on training and youth stuff.

Any late 80s away game at Pittodrie, Tannadice, or East End Park was always ball-numbingly freezing.

Upgrade to the same status as Hampden, and seek to host Uefa finals and European Championship matches?

All UEFA finals etc are allocated to a member association who then select which stadium will get the game. The SFA will always pick Hampden, even though it is profoundly gash. On the funny side remember we had Gerry McNee telling us, on every show for about 15 years, on Scotsport Extra Time that Ibrox was due to get a European final?

A modest increase in capacity, coupled with a large increase in facilities. Better hospitality, better press facilities, cafe, shop, improved player facilities..... A few years in the CL and we'll pay for ot out of petty cash.

We can make the stadium a destination, maybe not at Barca levels but every little helps. Barca aren't spending £260 million to get an extra 5,000 bums on seats but as phase one of Campus Barca which is costing nearly £600 million over 5 years. There's no way they're spending that amount if they're not going to make it back and more... We can spend less but improving the stadium facilities will always pay off. And if we do a good job, we will get a UEFA final..... That UEFA final was ours as a reward for the Fair play awards but the bitter blazers in Mount Florida blocked it and it ends up at Hampdump again. When else has the same stadium hosted anotger final so soon? :nono:

Probably be able to rent a badge for a fiver off the mister can I watch your car brigade as I reckon these badges will be a right good earner for these guys.
I am in and about Parkhead most days and there is not a great deal of residents cars on Helenvale St and the surrounding areas.
I think most of the issues lie at the Commonwealth village housing and the other new builds.
Cars must be registered to the address to receive parking permits
I'm still hoping this doesn't happen, but if it does, Visitors passes are allowd at one per address for a £10 annual fee. The car itself is not registered at all. IE anyone could use.

If I lived there I would buy and rent out for £5 a game.

Would only be a minor benefit to Celtic, on about the same level as the Commonwealth Games opening ceremony (although the original result in the Legia game at Murrayfield very nearly negated that benefit).

When we first got wind of the various 'Celtic Way' related improvements, the drawings that were circulated on here included a museum/superstore complex. Was that included in whatever planning applications were made at the time or would we need to put in a separate application to our fenian brothers on the council?

Barcelona don't rely upon ticket sales as much as we do though. Our business model requires our demand for seats to be equal to, if not greater than, the actual seats available. If we have 75k seats then there's less of a need to buy a season ticket. Which is a huge problem for us, much more so than for Barcelona and any other club in the top leagues.

There's no way we're expanding the stadium now. We've had 6 months of great attendances, buy I'm not aware of a ST waiting list though, so who's going to fill these new seats? We'll need 5+ years of sellouts, a waiting list, and a belief that this isn't just a short-term jump based solely upon the BR effect.
