I think if they introduce this 1km exclusion zone we will see crowds drop dramatically, especially midweek games
Definately will cut attendences midweek - particularly if it's bad weather. Especially people who are not rregistered disabled but are elderly / infirm.
I emailed JPT because this is the case for my Dad.
His response was that they are engaged with the Council but as consultation is ongoing they can't really say anything.
He did suggest the car park at the back of the Lisbon lions stand at £5 a time!

Update to this. My mate has just put up on our whatsapp group that he's been in Celtic Park over the past couple of days assessing the structure so that new speakers can be installed. He doesn't have a timeline yet but he's only there to work out how much weight the walls can take. Looks like the glory days of 115 are numbered.
He is not from Manchester is he ? Hibs fan ?
I spoke to a guy on twitter who was in at Celtic dealing with quite a few issues/proposals to do with fan interaction.
And also for the player performance analysis.
Nah, Arsenal fan who flirted with supporting the huns in the early 00's but eventually saw sense.

Probably be able to rent a badge for a fiver off the mister can I watch your car brigade as I reckon these badges will be a right good earner for these guys.
I am in and about Parkhead most days and there is not a great deal of residents cars on Helenvale St and the surrounding areas.
I think most of the issues lie at the Commonwealth village housing and the other new builds.

Always wondered why Celtic don't just pay the forge a nominal fee for fans to park there, especially mid week games when the shops are already mostly closed. I get that at the weekend fans may compete with shoppers for spaces but those fans may also be customers if they are popping in to buy something before the game. Seems like an easy solution?

Surely the forge wouldn't charge that much, especially if it ended up being in their benefit?
I'm sure the shops at the Forge would love us taking all their customers parking spaces

Midweek after most are closed though?

Heaters. Big, blasting, sweaty balls inducing, heaters.
A harness racing track I used to attend at least once per week during their March-May seasons, Rosecroft Raceway south of Washington, DC, had an open air grandstand with electric heaters attached to the trusses below the roof. Those used to be very nice on evenings where the temps were not much above freezing.

Then, one night, someone forgot to shut them off and the grandstand was engulfed in a blaze; fortunately, they were able to save the enclosed clubhouse next to it. The grandstand was ultimately rebuilt, but the racetrack was never quite the same.

The only thing with the heaters is that Lawwell would only put one bar on, the tight git.

Heaters please!! Lots of grounds in the Netherlands have them as well and they work really well.
I can't imagine Celtic Park being anything other than absolutely baw freezing in the winter.
There's something about Scottish grounds that seems to make them feel colder than stadia in supposedly colder climates. Coldest I've ever been in my life was at Pittodrie*.

I doubt the club would go for heaters, though. Those things must cost a feckin fortune to run.

*St. James's Park and Roker too, but every fecker was wearing replica shirts and nothing else, per their reputation!

the coldest i've ever been at a football match was when i was working in working in madrid one january about 10 years ago. one of my colleagues took me to a Getafe game and to say i was unprepared for the weather is an understatement. absolutely brass monkeys.*

the next week i got taken to the Bernabeu and i was wrapped up like Ranulph Fiennes in a blizzard. only to find the flash bastards there have gas ambirad heaters on the underside of the roof all round the stadium. after about 10 mins i was melting hot, vest and long johns et al.

* i also managed to get sunstroke playing 11's the next morning. long story

Everton have this kind of tie-in with the Tesco outside Goodison. There were spaces available when I arrived. Most locals know to do their shopping outwith about 30 mins each side of the game.

Seems to work pretty well for both parties on matchdays.

Prior to the Celtic Way being built, there was supposed to be a two story building built to the right (where Billy stands) to house a cafe, ticket offices and a wee Celtic museum.....plans were lodged with the Council. Word I'd heard is that things have moved on dramatically.....we were thinking too small and we may end up with a new South Stand if things pan out with Brendan........

I actually heard this as well.

There is talks about the south stand getting improved/bigger. Don't quite know what happened to the plans for the museum/cafe etc as club have been pretty silent on it. :ponder:

Cars must be registered to the address to receive parking permits

Is it really necessary to expand the South Stand? Can't see it happening anyway.

If there is, I doubt the club makes any money from it ;)

Extend the old Main Stand?

No chance it'll ever happen*
